Alongside our tilt & slide, bifold, and lift & slide patio doors, we offer a range of sliding doors that just glide to the side. Within this range is one of our most basic, budget-friendly products, the Aluprof MB Slide, but also one of our most premium options, the highly innovative Hi-Finity system. To find out more about our motorized locking, slim frames, almost limitless dimensions, and a wide range of custom design features, just read on or get in touch today.
The Function Explained
Although our four pure sliding doors, the Aluprof MB Slide, Schüco ASE 60, Smart Slide, and Hi-Finity models, can all be horizontally slid to create an opening, they function a little differently. Where the Aluprof MB Slide sits on tracks that it can be pushed along, the Smart Slide model, on the other hand, features bottom wheels that roll on a lower rail once the handle is turned. For the Hi-Finity system, the following is then the case:
- Closed
When the door is closed, the electronic locking system concealed in the upper frame is connected and the sash is sealed shut. - Open
Once the user opens the door with a remote control or by pressing a button on the wall, the connection in the electronic locking system is cut and the sash glides open on small wheels along a lower rail.
The Key Benefits of a Sliding Door
- Particularly large dimensions available: Our models like Hi-Finitiy can securely hold large sashes with a heavy load.
- Barrier-free threshold options: Our Hi-Finity model can come with a flat threshold for a smooth entry and exit, which makes for comfortable living as well as accessible access.
- Choose our sleekest, most user-friendly opening: With a motorized electromagnetic opening available that can be operated by the push of a button, premium fronts become a reality.
- Let in light from all angles: Thanks to particularly slim frames, a sash that can disappear into a pocket inside, and an open corner option, our Hi-Finity door allows light to beautifully illuminate interiors.
- Highly customisable design: Whether you want a uPVC or aluminium frame, purpose-designed safety glass, a frosted finish, or more, our products can be tailored to suit a wide range of requirements.

Achieving Excellent Security & Thermal Performance
Thanks to standard double glazing featuring two panes and spaces filled with inert argon gas, our products provide good standard insulation. The same goes for security. With multiple locking points and quality fittings, sufficient break-in protection is provided when one of our doors is purchased in its most basic configuration.
For customers who wish to enhance these features, this can easily be achieved by adapting the glazing. Depending on the model, triple glazing, which features an additional third pane, can be used, for example. This thicker glass further helps to prevent energy loss through the surface via conduction, which keeps interiors cool during hotter periods and warm when it’s cold out.
To increase impact-resistance and security, the glazing can also be modified during manufacturing. The surface can be laminated, for example, where invisible PVB polymer foil interlayers are inserted between panes. This makes the glass harder to break and will prevent it from shattering out. In addition, a higher number of locking points can also be requested.
